1st Year Curriculum
Focusing on the creation and production of personal models, the first year of education involves preparation for the competition projects organized in collaboration with various fashion brands, as well as factory, museum and fair visits.

2nd Year Curriculum
An internship at a fashion design studio reinforces the theoretical training. Exchange study opportunities are presented at 22 ESMOD schools in 14 countries around the world. Students prepare for competition projects organized in collaboration with various fashion brands.Â

3rd Year Curriculum
The last year of the Diploma Program is focused on the preparation and presentation of collections, students work within the guidance of their instructors, but more independently. Three different juries consisting of experienced industry professionals closely follow up the work of the students throughout the year and help them develop their collections. At the last year, students are also required to plan the marketing stage of their collections. Within the program, each student is required to have completed their target audience analysis, determined their sales points and prepared their starting budget plans and marketing strategy before presenting their collection. Student collections are presented at a fashion show held at the Vakko Fashion Center. After graduation, students also have the opportunity to attend the Master’s programs at ESMOD’s Paris, and Geneva schools.

Frequently Asked Questions
At the end of the second year, our students are entitled to receive a certificate approved by the Ministry of National Education. Due to the content of our curriculum, technical training is completed in the first 2 years and you learn to create a collection in the 3rd year.
High school graduation is enough for you to apply to the program. We have an oral and written evaluation system at the admissions stage, aiming to measure your motivation for fashion.
You do not have to have prior training or a certain level to start fashion design and creation undergraduate education.
Students who have graduated from a 3-year undergraduate program can apply for a master’s program at ESMOD Paris and other schools. Portfolio, technical drawing and mold information are evaluated in master applications.
As ESMOD is an international academy, our students can participate in the exchange program; they can continue part of their education at another ESMOD school if they wish.
At the end of 3 years, you will be entitled to open your own business place because the required training time has been taken and you have the necessary competence to get the master tutorial certificate.
In the 1st year, our students are divided into 2 classes as English and Turkish classrooms. In the 2nd and 3rd years, the language of instruction is English and there are simultaneous Turkish interpreters in our classes.

At the end of the year, internship opportunities are provided in Vakko Fashion Center, Vakko Production Center and Vakko stores depending on the student’s success and course grades. After the graduation, depending on the success of the student, necessary contacts are provided with the companies that you cooperate in the sector and Vakko HR department.
Scholarship applications are opened at the beginning of March each year and ends at the end of March. The scholarship is 50% for the first year and gradual scholarship is provided. The French education system does not allow credit transfer, but you can apply for transfer to the 2nd or 3rd year with your portfolio of transcripts from the previous school and all the works in fashion design, modelism.

Instructors
Dominique Boillot – Fashion Design
Dominique Boillot has been Fashion Design Instructor at Esmod Osaka, Esmod Roubaix, Esmod Damascus and Esmod Tokyo. She has been style consultant and content coordinator at fashion shows in Paris. Boillot has been Collection Manager for the brand BELLEZA CLUB JAPAN/BROTHER (Tokyo) and Fashion Designer for the brands Alain BOIX, SAINT CLAIR – DANIEL HECHTER (Paris) and Eliane BRETHES Fashion Office (Paris). French being her native language, she additionally speaks English and Japanese.
Jasmina Benferhat – Pattern Making
Jasmina Benferhat is an Esmod Paris alumna. She has been Pattern Making Instructor at Esmod Munich, Esmod Jakarta and Esmod Berlin for 26 years. In the academic year 2018-2019 she is lecturer at the Universität der KĂĽnste Berlin. Since 1998, she has been developing Freelance products for various brands in Berlin such as Bernadett Penkov, Sisi Wasabi, Frida Weyer, Frida Weyer for Meissen Couture, C’est tout and MaisonnĂ©e. Being guest lecturer for draping courses at SAADA University in Shanghai in 2011, Benferhat has taken part in various projects from Berlin to Nairobi. In the “African Designers for Tomorrow” project in 2015 in Nairobi, Benferhat has individually counselled participants in preparing designs, cutting and developing details. Throughout her coaching as Pattern Making instructor at Esmod Berlin, Benferhat has taken part in various projects such as “Beyond Seeing” in collaboration with Goethe Institut. German and French being her native languages, she additionally speaks English and Arabic.
Yeliz Korur – Pattern Making
Yeliz Korur has graduated from Bilkent University department of Tourism and Hotel management in 1997. In 2014 she entered Vakko Esmod Fashion Academy and completed her Fashion Design & Creation diploma degree in 2017. In the years 1998-2010 she worked in a management role at the Planning-Buying-Logistics departments of AY Tekstil. Throughout her education at Vakko Esmod Fashion Academy, she pursued her designer assistant role at designer Çiğdem Akın. Turkish being her native language, she additionally speaks advanced English and beginner level French and Spanish.
Ece ÇavuĹźoÄźlu – Fashion Design
Graduated from Vakko Esmod Fashion Academy Fashion Design and Creation Diploma Program with a Special Jury Award. During the student period, won a first prize in competitions within the framework of cooperation with important brands in the sector. She worked in Common Leisure Brand and Elle magazine.
Katerina Cetiner- Fashion Design -Photoshop & Illustrator
Started Vakko Esmod Academy in 2013 for Diploma Program. Graduated in 2016 with “Special Jury Prize” award for final fashion design collection. Worked as freelance designer in Moscow-based Alyona Tsaryova women’s wear brand. During education at Vakko Esmod Fashion Academy, had Mercedez benz fashion weeks backstage experience, alongside with internships in Merve Bayındır fashion house, Maid in Love brand and Loft. Worked longterms in Turkish fashion field on Design assistant and Designer positions, including companies such as Go Textil, Moeva and Nueve. Have studied on Certificate courses for “Fashion stylist” and participated in personal styling and magazine photoshoot projects. Fluent in Russian, English, Turkish and beginner level of French.
Begüm Başoğlu Öner – Fashion History and Culture
After graduating from Istanbul University Department of Italian Language and Literature, Başoğlu has studied Fashion History at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milano. Since 2005 she has been Curator of Vitali Hakko Creative Industries Library. She has been giving classes about Fashion Culture at Vakko Esmod Istanbul. Başoğlu has contributed translations in academic fashion publications and published a book called “Sade” written with Ege Erim.
Hande Aral – Fashion Management
Hande Aral graduated from ITU Chemical Engineering Department in 1997. Between 1997-2000, she designed product sales points, in-store arrangements, showcases, stands and fairs for various ready-to-wear and FMCG brands. She completed her MA in Industrial Arts / Product Design at San Francisco State University in 2002. The graduate education she received in the USA was decisive in her career journey by providing her with a different perspective on the world of fashion, design, textile and ready-to-wear. She returned to Turkey in 2004 and continued to offer design services. She started working at Shaya in 2005 as merchandiser and brand manager, respectively. She received retail management training at the London headquarters of the River Island brand, where she was one of the managers of Shaya. She took a break from her working life with the birth of her daughter in 2008. She returned to the business world with Mavi in ​​2010. She took an active role in processes such as trend and competitor analysis, sales, collection with the design team, and creating the first location at Mavi, where she was the category manager. She started to work as import product supplier relations and merchandising manager at Beymen in 2014. She managed all the processes of the products from purchasing to the store together with her team. In 2017, she became the marketing and product manager of Adidas’ “Originals” category. She then took over the management responsibility of product managers in all categories of Adidas. Hande Aral, who left her job at Adidas in 2019, continues her career as a consultant in order to share with the participants what she has accumulated so far.
Sibel Ege – Fabric Textile
She graduated from ITU Textile Engineering on 2003. She worked at several global and local companies such as Gap, VSP and managed the merchandising, purchasing, sourcing operations for fabric, textile production, leather production, accessory collections. After getting MBA Turquality Manager Development education in Koc University between 2008 – 2009, she set up her own company, Ren Sourcing in 2010. She cooperates with fabric producers from Europe and Far East to supply for famous Turkish brands and designers. She also supports some European brands for production in Turkey. She studied Fashion Buying & Merchandising at UAL London College of Fashion in 2017.Sharing experiences and knowledge with those who are interested in textile and fashion world has always been one of her goals. She has been teaching at Vakko Esmod since 2016 for diploma, certificate and corporate training programs, both in Turkish and English. She provides consultancy services to textile companies about branding, market & fair research, fabrics, collection planning, production.
