The starting point is sculptor Paige Bradley’s artwork called “Expansion.” It represents the notion that even if something broken and separated into pieces, it shows differentiation and expansion when put together. As humans, we may experience various pain, sorrow and resentment from the moment we are born. These notions do not make us incapable, on the contrary we become more powerful and beautiful. This collection was created entirely on this philosophy. By adding the Kintsugi art of Japanese culture (repairing broken objects with gold dust for showing respect to life experiences), all pieces in the collection are connected with gold colored thread and handmade. It is aimed to provide the tranquility and serenity within the volumes of all designs with the Wabi-Sabi philosophy again from the Japanese culture. “Second Life” is the story of rebirth.
